Arctic landscape photography holiday is a full on package for photographers looking to capture the magical arctic nature.
In the wintertime, the soft white of snow blankets the landscape, even when the sun doesn’t really rise, sunrise and sunset seem to last for hours. After dark, the auroras colour the sky with their own mystical dance. This is winter as it should be and this is your chance to experience it. With us you will travel to remote locations, away from city lights and tourists, right in the middle of nowhere – and yet in has all you can ask for an arctic landscape photography holiday. Nature is quiet under the snow, and at the same time very full of life.
Polar summer, on the other hand, lasts for a good couple of months. The sun doesn’t set at all, but you have a photographer’s golden hour lasting for hours and hours. Endure the mosquitoes, which inevitably are a part of the arctic summer months, and capture the summer light photographers often dream about. The shortness of the summer forces the nature to bloom quickly. The summer’s colours go from shy light green in the early June to first signs of yellow in early August.
Suitable for photographers of all abilities, this tour will put you right amongst the Lappish landscape. Throughout the tour your guide will be there to not only guide but to also teach you how to take better photographs and truly master the landscape. This will be done “in the field” using a hands on approach. Photography workshops allow you to discuss your photography, get tips from your guide and fellow travelers and showcase the best of your photos.
We’ll be travelling by mini-bus for flexibility and will often use snowshoes or hike to access the best locations, away from the road. In some winter trips it is also possible to take snowmobile transport to more remote locations. Huskies and reindeer are a local must, so some of our photography holidays include a safari with our furry friends.
We keep the groups small so we can provide a high level of service and greater flexibility. Your arctic landscape photography tour is led by a passionate aurora hunter, landscape photographer and professional outdoor guide, who has lived in the region for years and knows the best locations.
Arctic landscape photography trips are run on a request basis throughout the year. If you are interested to hear more, click the button below to send us an email. Alternatively, you can request a custom tour for you and your group when ever you’d like to travel. We have special rates for camera clubs and groups over 6 people.

Pick up from Kittilä or Tromso airport
Evening workshop on northern lights / mid night sun photography (and mosquito protection).
Night time photography.
Both of our trips include a lunch or dinner at a wilderness hut to photograph the most pristine nature away from even the small village. Other locations include lakes, wild rivers, waterfalls, Borreal forests and barren landscapes above the tree line. Some of our trips can include visits to Norway.
Winter: on location for sunrise photography. The sun doesn’t rise until after 9am, but Lapland’s most spectacular skies tend to occur the hour before and after the sun rises. The shades of yellow, orange and pink are strong and bathe the world in the most amazing light.
Summer: early morning photography of a variety of landscapes; rivers, tundra, borreal forest.
In the afternoon you’ll have time for a sauna, to explore or to process your images.
In the evening you’ll once again head out by mini-van in search of Lady Aurora / midnight sun
