(Gareth Hutton)Join us for a guided trip to Finland’s oldest National Park. During the trip you will learn about the nature, reindeer herding and life in the region. The route travels through pine forest onto the open tundra. You will spend a night in a wilderness cabin and enjoy the midnight sun. (May-August). When the nights are dark (September-October) you will have a chance to see the northern lights.

Your guide will meet you at the hotel the night before, explains the trip plans, does a safety briefing and checks equipment. The next day we’ll take a boat taxi to the National Park, where we will begin our hike. We will stop regularly for drink and snacks, to learn about the nature and to take photographs. The daily hike is about 8-10km. In the evening everyone gets involved with dinner preparation and cooking. The following day we hike across the tundra and back down into the forest to a village where we will be picked up.
